Light switches and plugs

What colour light switches and plug points would be best? The house is mostly grey and bright colours (yellow, turquoise, red, dark blue). I wanted antique brass radiator valves but didnt really want brass for the sockets and switches. Would it be better to have white or satin chrome?

Anyone? Sorry I realise it is terribly boring!

White

Anything fashionable will date quickly.

Crabtree is a good brand.

Brass is yuk -

We have dark grey switches and sockets

White looks cheap

Hackedoffevenmore · 02/03/2016 18:12

I hate white metal, they're very plain, DH thinks he can't see the difference with plastic but I can.

BasinHaircut · 02/03/2016 18:15

Just get white plastic ones. Anything else looks incredibly try-hard to me and very dated.

What age is your house? What sort of architectural style? What sort of decor have you gone for? You mention bright colours but are you talking sleek modern styles or country club style or...?

If you want something that might go with your radiator valves how about dark grey plates with brass dolly swiches like this might go with the antique brass radiator valves without looking like brass switches from a DIY shop.

White

Agree anything other than white looks dated.

HereIAm20 · 03/03/2016 11:23

Another vote for white

HollyMaingate · 03/03/2016 11:55

I'm with the white can look cheap depending on the sort of house/location. You don't see many top end houses/apartments with white plastic.

linspins · 03/03/2016 12:01

White, get good quality ones with every so slightly curved edges.

BasinHaircut · 03/03/2016 12:52

I don't think there is much in between though holly.

And I don't care how much you spend, a shiny one that will show finger prints is never going to look good, no matter how much it cost!
