How to survive a house rewire

We are having our house fully rewired in the next 3 weeks. I have been decluttering and plan to move a lot of furniture out. We are moving out for the week but what to do with kitchen units and fitted wardrobes. Stuff will be remaining in these should I tape them shut?? Any tips on how to survive the mess (I know its going to be bad). Many thanks

It doesn't have to be so bad! Sorry, I don't know the technical terms but check that the people you are using are chiselling into the wall and not using those awful saw tools that throw dust everywhere - this will drastically reduce the mess. (I didn't do this when having a downstairs room rewired and I deeply regretted it when I came back to find a thick layer of dust over everything in the house).

Buy a cheap builders cylinder Hoover (toolstation/screwfix) as you will ruin yours if you try to use it to clear up.
