Anyone else waiting for their mortgage offer to come through?

Has been 3 weeks since we applied - valuation took place more than 2 weeks ago. Wondering if that's the norm or whether something is holding ours up? Just sitting around waiting for someone to put me out my misery... we need to complete before 1 April as well!

How long have your mortgage offers been taking?

We got ours two days after the valuation had taken place but no idea if this was the norm or we were just really lucky sorry! I'd probably be calling the lender to try to chase it up after that long though!

who is yours with? that makes all the difference. do you know if the valuation was ok? sorry we were like Iwas - received 2 days after the valuation.

Are you using a broker? can you give them a call?

Get on the phone to them - in my case the valuer had given a zero valuation because of possible dodgy concrete, and had failed to update the valuation when the test came back fine. He also then failed to tell us that he needed to see a copy of the mining reports before he would update the report. He then forgot to update the report, holding us up an additional two weeks.

We ARE using a broker but he just keeps on saying it's expected any day now - except he's been saying that for at least a week now. We are using Coventry. No idea whether he is actually chasing them..will ask him if he thinks its a valuation issue

I have used Coventry in the past with no broker and found them v efficient. I would ring them.

I'd like to jump on this band wagon.

I'm waiting for Santander. They only received the application from the broker this week and he said the valuation should be done this Friday. I had a seperate survey that valued the property for 50k under the asking price!!! If the mortgage valuation does the same thing then the deal would have to be off as we couldn't bridge the gap. I'm annoyed as I've really done my homework and I don't think we are particularly paying that much over the odds....

Just got an update today and received the mortgage offer - so just over 3 weeks in total and 2 weeks after the valuation.

However story not over yet - valuation on our current property came way below expectations (which we are trying to remortgage on let to buy) so trying to deal with that situation...

i am seeing my broker today to start the full application process. we were turned down for a mortgage on full application in Nov ( had a dip) so i am stressing already. i have got a folder of paper work to hand in that is an inch thick. i cant remember the process being this stressful

I did that in end of 2014. We used barclays for mortgage on new house we live in (no probs have banked with them for years) and Nat West to value my flat for btl.
The Nat West valuer did not know his arse from his elbow. I had provided my broker with a rough valuation £xxxk to yyyk. The valuer then just took the lower of this range and wrote a report giving this valuation but highlighting the lease was short less than 60yrs. It wasnt the had actually bought the fh and extended the lease to 125yrs. He then said oops my bad and added 10k to his valuation. Total jackanory. You could try them, you might get the same muppet.

Apparently when you are purchasing on buy to let or remortgaging they are quite strict on valuations.

My valuation is confirmed for Friday. I will now sit and bite my nails until next week. Everything rides on that poxy valuation!
