Carpet fitting advice needed

We had a carpet fitted last week, by a fitter supplied by the place we bought from (ScS) but paid separately. Once we'd cleared away all the waste they'd left we realised that it had been done badly - several lumps. The fitter said any unevenness would settle down. Has anyone had any success in this situation of getting them to come back and refit?

No advice, but you're right - there shouldn't be any unevenness.

Had the carpet got ceased or been folded rather than rolled before fitting? That can cause lumps and bumps.

You could try whacking them with a mallet

that is if your hamster has not gone missing recently Grin

Sorry - seriously, it might settle down but it depends where the lumps are and what's causing them.

Could you maybe post a photo?

and they should not have been leaving waste lying around. Anyone decent would take it with them and hoover round.
