Neighbours and possible asbestos

Yesterday morning I discovered a huge digger in the garden of the house next door, knocking down the neighbours ramshackle shed. Apart from the fact they live abroad and I don't even know whether they know it's been knocked down, my main worry is that the roof looked like it was made of asbestos and now it's lying in pieces in their garden. If it is asbestos presumably there are now particles floating all over the place including into our house?? Anyone got any ideas where to start with finding out if there is asbestos here or not?

Have a Google on your local authority website. Try looking at the planning page as well.

No idea but I think that's where I would start.

Notify the council./environmental health? Asbestos has to be handled and disposed of under strict regulations.

I would call environmental health at your local council asap. Hopefully they can help and investigate. They are likely to have an out of hours number for you to call.
There are different types of asbestos, and hopefully it's ok, but I would be worried too.
