Accepted a private offer on house - what do we do next?

We've agreed to sell our house to someone we know, so no estate agents. We've accepted the offer, but what do we do now? Is it getting solicitors involved?

Be gentle, we've never sold a house before!

I'm selling my house this way. Once we'd agreed a price we just swapped solicitors details, passed them on and hopefully the solicitors will get on with it. My buyers had their mortgage survey/valuation done this week so looks like things are moving on.

We just exchanged Solicitor details and then sat back and waited for the searches etc. to come back and get a date for the exchange and completion, ours all took 6 weeks.

We just bought privately and we swopped solicitor's details and initiated weekly updates to ensure they were getting on with things.
