Walk In Showers - are they messy?

Sorry this might be a totally stupid question - but do you end up with water everywhere? And if not is there a minimum depth/size I should go for? Even with an enclosure I seem to end up with water everywhere.

Ours has bi fold glass doors on and no water gets out. Is that what you mean?

I mean those showers that just have one long panel with nothing at the end....Although I've seen those ones with the folding bit that you have squinkies. I guess with the single panel you just have to almost do a wet room - as I'm sure water must splash out of the end.
