We live in a 3-bed semi-detached dormer bungalow with detached garage in the garden. LOVE the location but we're running out of space due to DD's bedroom and DH's (growing) business taking up 2 of the bedrooms. We're trying to work out whether knocking down the garage, building DH an outside office and staying here for a few years makes financial sense or whether we should just move. Extending isn't an option due to the way this house is laid out. Can't currently quite afford to live in the area we'd like as I'm working PT atm, so we'd be moving again in 3-4 years.
Any advice? Has anyone built/converted an outbuilding and, if so, what did it do to the value of your house?
