Can I rip a kitchen out and put it back again.

Our neighbour is looking to do a party wall extension on a terraced house where there is an l shape at the rear of both of the houses (and therefore a gap between the kitchens. We could meet them in the middle but had our kitchen done in the last few years. Is is possible to rip a kitchen out and put it back in a slightly larger space after we do the extension?

Thanks

We had the same situation & removed tiles & cabinets from the effected part of the kitchen carefully. When the extension was completed we put the old cabinets back in a new layout. We also ended up buying a few more carcasses (we had standard sizes so these were from builder supplier Howdens, and hidden behind our own doors). We didn't buy any more doors; we put an extra oven in though and added metal shelves. Enough of the old tiles cleaned up perfectly to blend old & new. We had a length of new worktop which didn't cost much & it wasn't hard to do. The worst part was dodging the stored cabinets during the building work, when we were budged up into the front of the house anyway. It might actually have been sensible to have arranged some storage....

Thank you... good to know we have options!! Might be good for the value of our house, might not be. I just need to get over the fact I saw them a few days ago and it didn't occur to them to mention they have put a planning application in....
