Hello.
I've just put in an offer for a 3 bed semi detached in Didcot and am trying to get an estimate of bills. How much do you think for electric and gas per month? And for water? I've got tv licence, phone/internet, council tax, mobile phones, cars, house insurance, what else might I need?
Thanks in advance! X

How long is a piece of string? The local water company will be able to tell you what the water rates are or if there is a meter. We halved our water bill by having a meter installed. As for the other two, the electricity costs are unlikely to alter much in a new place unless it's significantly different (moving from a rented room to a 3 bed house) or there is something like an electric boiler. As for gas - depends on the heating system's efficiency and how much you use it. No harm in asking via the agent how much the current owners spend on utilities, but your usage might be totally different.

Don't forget life insurance too to protect the mortgage.
