Can you paint over crayon?

DD1 has drawn on the walls with both crayon and colouring pencils. I'm pretty sure I can just paint over the pencil, but can I do the same for the crayon?

If not, anyone know the best way to get it off the walls?

Try baby wipes and if that doesn't work then try WD40!

Try WD40 or scrub with toothpaste to remove. You won't be able to paint over it and prevent it from showing through the paint unless you use a stain block paint first. It's fairly expensive so I'd try to get the crayon off first. I've used toothpaste and an old toothbrush myself and it does work. I haven't used WD40 as I worried about it leaving marks on painted walls.

OK, thanks. Will try the toothpaste and toothbrush first.

I'm not worried about removing paint because it's all white, I've loads left, and we're going to get the house properly decorated soon.

And I can get DD to do some of the cleaning too.

Try those magic eraser things I used to get rid of crayon from our walls as well as other marks.

Do you mean these things, Cumber?

Great. I've bought a couple so will get stuck in tomorrow!

Will try milk if all else fails!
