Colour inspiration for a new loft bedroom

We're just having a loft extension built and need to think about colour scheme for the new bedroom - inspire me!

The room is nice and light, Velux windows facing west and French doors facing east. Our bed, bedside tables and chest of drawers are Warren Evans teak. Otherwise we've got pretty much total flexibility to choose curtains/blinds, carpet and wall colours.

I'd like the room to feel warm, relaxing and peaceful. I'm not afraid of colour and I love lilac especially.

DH is not fussed so this is down to me!

i'd have a strong color or wallpaper on 1 wall and lighter shades of same on the others. Currently liking berry and darkish green.

I've gone for what DP picked which isn't quite the China/Duck egg blue I wanted as a feature wall. Ash grey carpet and stone curtains.our bed is warren Evans white and our duvet cover is multi colour checked from dunelm. We're in the loft also. No velux Windows but big French doors. I'm not a fan of the blue. But DP likes it. All other walls are white.

depending on the elevations, I probably wouldn't do a feature wall, or even coloured walls... as lofts are often so... unsymmetrical! but maybe it would work for you!

I would do all white or off-white everywhere on walls and ceiling (so it all looks unified, blurring the separation between the two and making it all look bigger)
Textural linen naturally-dyed type bedding/window treatments to go with the teak.
Sisal floor (www.houzz.co.uk/photos/5393443/clarendon-road-modern-bedroom-london = yum!) and a nice soft rug under and to the sides of the bed.

In our loft bedroom we went for white ceiling & woodwork, mid/dark grey feature wall & the rest in pale grey, with a silver grey carpet (with a sheen to it). Dark grey floral curtains & then white bedlinen. En suite is the same colour scheme. Its quite muted but I'm really pleased with it, looks really fresh & clean, & the room is lovely, bright & airy.

I don't think a feature wall will work because it is all quite asymmetric as Hiahia says.

The en suite has lavender wall tiles and rich brown wood-effect floor tiles (much nicer than that sounds) and I am looking at Little Greene paint in Whisper for the rest of the walls; wondering about that for the walls and ceiling for the bedroom as well, and then we could have lavender accessories. Not sure what floor then?

sarahbanshee - the LG whisper is nice but might be a bit overbearing for the whole room(s)...
How about making a feature 'area' ie painting a rectangle in the colour on the wall behind the bed and bedside tables... would look good if all centred, and remind of the ensuite... and the rest white-ish (love strong white by f&b - colour matched):

you could also go for a stronger violet/lilac/purple in that case.

you wouldn't consider a natural fibre type of carpet? the sisal would be a nice way to tie in with the natural look of the wooden tiles and the teak.
