Can someone talk to me about a party wall?

According to land registry my terrace has party walls on both sides. The fencing has rotted and broken. I dope to one neighbour who said we could get quotes and they would pay for half, the other insisted it had nothing to do with her. Can any help how I can approach this with her? She is a difficult person and I want to show her I am right (if I am of course!) many thanks.

Spend some time reading on this website, then ask your question there, it will save you money and stress.

Often you are responsible entirely for the fence on one side, it may well be that the neighbour that has agreed to share expenses is entirely responsible for that fence and has jumped at the chance to share expense, and the other neighbour has thought you cheeky for expecting them to pay for "your" fence.

It's a very expensive mistake to fall out with neighbours over boundaries , the garden law forum is an important read, and has very knowledgeable people with excellent advice.
