Moved house - old owner changed energy supplier-why?

We moved at the end of October. The previous owner, unknown to us arranged for the provider to be switched on the 1st of December. She told them we would be a business customer.
To sort this out, we have to prove when we moved in and proof of council tax, not a problem.
Why though? What did she have to gain by doing this? She knew full well the moving date and that there wouldn't be a business at the property.
I can't work it out Confused

Could they be getting confused with her new property or business? Check the meter no.

Were there any incentives offered by the new provider? Sometimes they'll give cashback, gift cards etc. if you switch t them.

How many £Ks did you knock off the asking price?

BaronessBomburst · 16/01/2016 11:14

Did she do anything else weird?

gamerchick · 16/01/2016 11:17

Heh I was wondering if you'd knocked down the price.

fuctifino · 16/01/2016 11:23

Umm yes, we knocked £100k off the asking price. That said though, we paid what the surveyor valued it at, she chose to market it at a very optimistic price.....and she'd already knocked 75k off when we went to see it.

Would you have preferred prawns and other fishy products shoved in curtain rails? Grin
