Hi,

We are getting our Howdens Burford Grey kitchen fitted next week and I'm a bit stuck on flooring. We're having oak surfaces and white walls/splash back tiles. What flooring may go? Not wooden floor, please.

Thank you!!

Stay away from Howdens unless you want your kitchen to fall to pieces in the next couple of years!

Beetroot you're a prize arse.

The Burford range is no longer on their website so I can't see what 'grey' it is Confused

We have recently had a Benchmarx Turin matt cashmere kitchen fitted. We have off-white tiles on the walls (apart from a handful of gold / orange as a splashback) along with solid oak worktops.

We went for Distinctive Flooring's Italian Plank in Roma for the floor - link here:

floor linky

It is a Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) like Karndean or Amtico apparently! Fitter described it as 'bombproof' i.e. waterproof and everything else proof. He laid a levelling screed one-day and then the flooring the next and you could walk on it immediately. We are very pleased with it so far - it ties in all the elements of the kitchen without making it look like we were trying to match it to the worktop which would be hellish

Has your Benchmarx depot got Vusta flooring samples? It's sort of like that. We were going to go with that until the fitter suggested Distinctive.

Swillows, thank you so much!! I will check out the link later this evening.

Friends had a very similar Howden one fitted just before Christmas, it's beautiful and great qualify. They already had a dark slate floor and it contrasts beautifully

We have this - oak work tops and grey metro tiles. We have amtico flooring in American oak and it looks lovely imo

Thank you! I'd love slate but think that's beyond our budget. I've also seen 4 or 5 Amtico designs I absolutely love. Thanks so much for your feedback.
