Can you put new railings on an old wall?

If so - is it very difficult?

We still have the original Victorian railings along the side and I don't think we could match them very easily, but I really want to put them along the front as well as the local lads keep sitting on our wall. It's about 2ft high and brick topped with chamfered cement blocks, like all the others in the street (apart from next door which has 1980s breeze blocks with patterns in! - too high to sit on, sadly)

They are mainly a harmless bunch but I'm worried it looks like any noise or whatever is my fault - my own lad is not outside as often as all the others but they still use our wall.

Any other suggestions welcome! Considering sniper attack at the moment tbh

I would try an architectural ironmonger and get them to quote for making new railings to match the existing ones. They make gates, railings, fences, balconies, etc. They can fix them for you too - I'm sure it's quite normal work for them.
