Veneer internal doors v solid oak

Debating whether to go for veneer doors or solid oak. How hard-wearing are veneer doors? The price difference is obviously a factor but the quality is the most important thing. Also can you plane veneer doors or not because of their composition?

We have Oak veneer internal doors, mostly fire doors(3 storey house). They are 7 years old and were oiled when put in. They are still as good as new.

The edges have a solid frame which can be planed to fit. Ours also have self closers ( fire regs) and the usual door furniture. Look great.

im changing mine all over from veneer to solid. The ones here look very cheap and feel flimsy though, maybe you can get better veneer ones?

We've changed one so far and it looks fab.
