Combi Boiler: Central heating fine - no hot water

We're baffled... The combi boiler is producing as much central heating as anyone could need - but won't produce hot water.
Just before I call for a repair - anyone know how this is possible?
We can turn the heating on - run the hot tap and get the boiler to 'kick into life'... but the water is no more than tepid.
Pressure is 'in the zone' and there is water flowing.
The tank has a dial and will go up to ~70 degrees... but no hot.
Help!

the diverted? They often get stuck. It's a relatively easy fix.

Diverter not diverted

It might look like this? You can manually switch it with the little switch.

So... It's like a valve that's been stuck open?
I'll have a look

When I say you can switch it I should have said you might be able to switch it. Confused.

You could google your type of boiler and diverted valve problems and see what cones up?

Or you could wait for PigletJohn to turn up and give some proper advise. Smile

in a combi, it will be hidden inside the boiler case.

I think you need a boiler mender.
