Washing machine drum completely stuck

I had a very lightly used Zanussi washer-dryer in storage and today used it to replace my broken-down machine. I removed the transit bolts and connected it all up and started it off. It filled up fine but started making a grinding noise instead of turning. I switched it off and checked I had removed the transit bolts - I had. I emptied it and tried to give the drum a turn with my hand but it won't budge an inch. Any ideas what might have happened? It seems in very good nick, has been stored in a dry garage, I took the lid off and looked inside and there's no obvious rust/corrosion and the belt (if that's the little thing at the top of the machine) seems intact.

I'm guessing lala but it sounds as though the motor may have seized up. Can you spin the drum manually with the door open as normal? If not then it may be the bearings. Again on a newish machine not much used, maybe they have seized rather than wearing out. Another thing to consider is whether something (a mouse?) has got inside from the bottom or somewhere else and knawed at something inside the machine.

I glumly watched a YouTube video on replacing the bearings and concluded that doing virtually anything to a washing machine was well beyond my capabilities so I will have to get another machine. Grrr - it's taken up space for about four years while I waited for it to come in handy...

This happened to us recently with a fairly new machine the drum wouldn't turn at all.
DH called an engineer out and there was something that had come out of DH work trousers and somehow lodged itself outside the drum worked fine after that! Any chance it could be something like that?
Or its the bearings as a pp said which shouldn't happen in a newish machine but it can and then yes I'm afraid its prob best to get a new machine sorry Sad

It's definitely not the transit bolts - it feels like it should be as the drum is stuck rigid but I have checked and shone a torch through and the openings are absolutely clear. Do I just pulled back the seal to see if anything is caught outside the drum?

At the bottom of the machine there is a removable cover thing, take this off and there is a circle shape cover, try unscrewing this - if this is the problem there will be loads of water inside so have towels at the ready! Unscrew and let the water out and you might find something like a small sock inside causing the problem
