Has anyone painted their whole staircase?

If so, what did you do to make the treads non slip? We are doing ours at the moment and I can't decide between those tiny balls that you add to paint or a non slip decking-type clear topcoat which will stink until it's dry.

We have but we didn't put anything on to make it non slip - we like the daily challenge (grin)

I just know that DS2 will go A over T if we don't, he is good a falling over on deceptively flat surfaces. Did you paint the whole thing in one colour or have a contrast on the treads?

me too - just put several coats of varnish to protect my artistic work!

Be very careful how you paint. Do not paint up. Then down and find yourself trapped in the middle
