Don't know about St Helens too much.

Warrington - avoid Orford, Bewsey, Dallam, Chapelford (ironically as it used to be nice)

Nicer areas - Penketh, Great Sankey, Whittle Hall, Walton, Stockton Heath, Grappenhall

What do you need to know?

StubbleTurnips · 03/12/2015 19:46

Culcheth and Newton Le willows are in between both, and lovely.

Cheese it depends when you are travelling and how!

I do that journey everyday by car and it's always around an hour each way, two hours one morning last week after they closed the lancs Angry

St. Helens avoid the parr area, eccleston is probably the nicest part.

What is your budget?

Sirzy · 05/12/2015 19:35

The drive is very much traffic dependant. The east lancs road is often a car park (st Helens to Manchester) and Warrington itself often becomes gridlocked before trying to get to the motorway to get anywhere

cheesie1 · 05/12/2015 19:51

Oh right thanks for that good to know
Very frustrating if you have to do often poor you
our budget is around the 150 k thanks

I wouldn't do a warrington to Manchester commute, unless it's outside of standard office hours. The traffic is a bugger. Birchwood / gorse covert is great for easy access to the M62, is a decent area and you can get a reasonable amount of house for your money.
