White dulux paint

Any recommendations for shade of white paint for the whole of the downstairs? I don't want it to feel cold, but I want to brighten up the whole downstairs with white paint. The builder wants only dulux. Any recommendations for which shades I should get samples of? TIA.

we've gone for Timeless on all the big walls downstairs, happy with the result. Our house is a very small and cold house but the Timeless didn't make it feel any colder just more roomy.

Totally depends on the space, how light it is, how large, period, etc. We've had our whole house painted Dulux trade white (ie just plain old white) and it looks great. But it could look cold and clinical in a different space.

Do you want it to be actual white or sort of white? I'd just use brilliant white or trade white. No idea about non-white whites. Everyone always recommends Timeless on here but it looked a touch creamy to me on the painted sample in B&Q.

1930s semi. A large but not particularly bright hallway. Separate front lounge that gets lots of light and a large open plan kitchen, living, dining room (currently under construction) which didn't get much light before (north facing) but should get a lot more light once extension is complete. The floor will be a light greyish oak wood. I think I want something off white so that it's not too cold, but with a greyish rather than creamish tinge. We have dulux dusted moss 2 in our new loft room, which I love, and have considered having that downstairs (may still have that in the front room if I decide not to have the same paint in there as the rest of downstairs), but think we should keep it as neutral as possible downstairs, so want something more white than dusted moss 2.

Another vote for Timeless here. We live in an old farm building that was converted about 20years ago so it's relatively modern inside but with exposed brickwork and beams. Low ceilings downstairs and bedrooms in the roof space. Upstairs has more natural light than downstairs but it looks great in both.

Sorry, should have added that I don't feel it's creamy, looks greyer in places to me.

We also have timeless in our new north east facing kitchen extension. We like it so much we've just done hall, stairs and landing in it too.

I have just had my kitchen/diner/lounge done in porcelain doll, with plain deluxe white woodwork - its a very very pale grey - timeless is definitely white with a touch of cream compared to my white kitchen - i have had every tester of white and grey paint going... before settling on porcelain doll, and i plan to use it in the hall too now. suggest getting a few tester pots and seeing what works in your space and what items is needs to work with like flooring etc

Have a look at the Dulux Heritage range. Linen white has a very slight greyish tinge.

I have Porcelain Doll throughout my hallway. It's a lovely pale grey and looks great against the white bannisters and ceiling. My house is a 1930's semi.
I also have Timeless in my kitchen diner.
