So if you had a budget of £800000 and wanted a flat 1 ideally 2 bedrooms within walking distance of the West End and theatres. Nice area shops and bars. Schools not relevant , not fussed about parking courtyard garden would be good not essential.

Fairly safe for a single female where would you be looking?

I'd look around Marylebone, perhaps something like this ?

Bloomsbury or Islington (the central London side) would get my vote. If can be slightly further out I'd go for Canonbury.

surprisingly it can be done in Covent Garden, and you can get a 1 bed although not a 2:
