Heating help please?

Thermostat in hall, all radiators have thermostats.

Do I need hall thermo fairly high (25) to kick start heating, even if radiators are set to low.
Presumably that's quite wasteful (heating on but radiators not needed).

Is it better to have hall thermo low (18) and radiators high, so that if its cold enough to need heating at all, both the main heating and the radiators will come on.

And if so, what about the hall radiator, what do I do with that?

My head hurts thinking about it. Can anyone (PigletJohn?) help? THANK YOU!

I would have the main thermostat low (at the temperature you want) and the TRV's on the radiators on full.

Depends what your trying to do? The thermostat should be on to kick in if it gets really cold over night .. with rooms set at a level comfortable, some prefer it to be colder in the bedrooms.
Does yoir heating come on at set times?
