How long to dig foundations?

Our neighbours are having an extension done. They're currently using a pneumatic drill to (I presume) create the foundations. I work from home and the noise is horrible! Any ideas how long it's likely to go on for? It's been all this week. Sad

depends on the depth of the foundations. Ours took about a month

Oh my god, you're fucking joking! Is your cellar in Australia? Shock I was hoping they'd be just about done. Will have to take myself off to a coffee shop to work next week I think.

Thanks.

Ours took a day to dig foundations for 7x3m extension, 2 men, 1 wheelbarrow, a pick axe and a shovel

But yes, depends on depth required, type of soil, type of structure to be built?

Talk to the builders just ask how long it's likely to be, there is not much they can do to make it quieter but they will give you a good estimate of how one the noisy strange will last. Every house and builder will take a different time to dig them.

Ours only took a day but they did use a digger. Other bits were a lot noisier iirc

we had to have deep foundations because of a sloping garden :). It wasn't a full on month. It was on and off :)

Thanks all. If it carries on into next week I'll ask them how much longer it might be. I'm not moaning about it because it does obviously have to be done and we will hopefully be doing the same soon, but it would be good to know how much more of it we have to endure!
