Rendering a house

Found a house i quite like, but it has stone cladding on it that I dont like (looks cheap and dated).

Wondering if it could be rendered over? Or is it too bumpy, any other options, approx costs?

Our house was pebble dash. It has just been rendered over to a smooth finish. I'm not exactly sure on cost as the builders have included in as part of a bigger job. They just smooth the new render over it, as trying to take off the original surface can create loads more problems. It's not stone cladding though. Call a builder in to advise.

Thanks Gabbybaby - I just wondered if it was even possible, as I wouldnt buy it as it is.

We've been given a price owners would accept by EA, Ive added up kitchen, bathrooms, windows, decorate, carpets etc etc. So, if rendering is much more than £5k then the sums dont add up. Have no idea if its likely to be £2k or £20k!!

I figure that if our builders are "throwing it in" as something that they can do in between other stuff, then it will be closer to the lower end than the higher end of your range! Obviously depends on the size of the house. I'd guess around £5k?

We have just had three sides of our 5 bed house rendered for £8000, they rendered straight over nasty brickwork and did a smooth finish, the materials were £2000 and the rest was labour, it looks fab!
