Fire Hearth... Will it look shit?

Will a 2 piece hearth (bit at the front, bit at the back) look shit?
It's seems to be the common way of doing it but I'm worried about the join line. Will it look obvious?

Do you mean one piece inside the cavity/opening and a larger piece sticking out into the room? We have that and it looks fine to me.

Yeah. So one bit in the recess and the other against the wall. Like what you have by the sounds of it.

Just worried about the section line going across. Is it noticable on yours?

The joint isn't invisible, but I honestly don't notice it on a day to day basis. This is my stove, if that helps.
