Washing machine in cellar

We are in the process of buying a house. It is a victorian house and has a cellar that has sockets and is currently used for storage. I would like to use it as a utility room, so I would need to get plumbing for a washing machine + a sink. Has anyone has anything similar done? Any tips would be welcome!

unless the drains are unusually deep, you will find it difficult to make the water run uphill to the drain from the sink plughole. You could have a pump, if you like the excitement of things going wrong and the cellar flooding.

the washer can pump upwards but you had better consult the makers for how far, and the correct method of designing the connection to the drain. It is not common in the UK.

Is the cellar fully underground or only partially underground? We have a utility room in our cellar, but the room is at ground floor level and higher than the drains.
