OH and I went to an open house on Saturday morning (I think they're quite unusual round here). The property has only been on the market since Wednesday. There were 4 couples though one had clearly looked round before. It's on at a smidge overbudget but not ridiculously so (2k).
We're in a strong position, cash buyers, no chain.
The property is in a lovely area and has been finished beautifully.
We offered 5k below asking price about an hour after viewing. Apparently there was another bid too and both of ours were rejected.
We've now offered top of our budget (which is 2k below asking price) and waiting....agent is closed sundays so we've been told they'll call tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, if they reject this one too we'll have to walk away as we can't afford to go over budget.
Waiting is agonising! Why are agents so hard to read? The agent sounded positive about our offer because of our strong position....gaah this is horrible.
