Which paint colour to choose for the bedroom?

I really need to re-paint my bedroom walls as previous owners had in a somewhat sickly shade of pink and it's old with lines left from the picture frames! I've procrastinated for a whole year now (though am not in the house all the time) purely because I can't decide.

White seems to clinical, cream similar and will shows all the dust. I would want a warm shade but not bright. Would be nice of it was a change from the nasty pink but I do like some shades of pink - I just need exact suggestions. Otoh though I like raspberry colour, it may not be too soothing.
Or should I just be lazy and go for cream? then hang some colourful paintings? The room is of good size but not keen on dark colours for the whole room. I'd love a nice wallpaper but can't spend atm so paint will have to do.

There are different shades of white. We painted our whole flat white and before everyone kept telling me it would look clinical, cold, etc but actually with furniture, carpets etc it looks clean. All the previous critics (MIL, friends etc) agree. So go with what you like the look of.

Plus I've found its made us buy thing we love for the walk and to have complimentary furnishing.

I used to love white but have moved on to grey - I chose Misty from Dulux and couldn't be more pleased with it

thanks, Donna, I know white is very popular nowadays but I think it must be too high-maintenance as will show all the dust and lines from the frames soon. I agree that the good thing is, you can put any colour on the wallls as decorative touches. I like it but not really for the bedroom as I want it quite cosy.
Nellday - thanks, a warm grey is interesting, has it got a touch of pink in it? I wanted to hear this sort of advice because I haev n patience distiguishing between zillions of shades, so it's good to have a short list of options that already work for others. What furniture do you have in that room? Mine is pine and also dark brown bedframe, not sure it's the best combo but could be fine. I usually imagine white painted furniture in a grey room. Also, is that matte?

My bedroom is a lovely greenish colour - willow tree by dulux. Our lounge is dulux Egyptian cotton. Both cosy but light.

I like it, bought a tester pot first as I didn't want anything too dark, everything else in there is very neutral.

I like the idea of doing the walls very plain as a backdrop to a very vibrant duvet cover. So the room becomes all about the bed.
