Hello, I have a woscester bosch greenstar boiler in a flat I rent out. The tenants have snapped the key used to repressurise the boiler off inside it. I do have insurance to cover the boiler and other emergencies (£50 excess). Is it just a case of getting some needle nose pliers on the job to get it out? Or is there a.possibility of doing damage and best leave to the professionals. Also will the key being stuck in there do any damage or can it be safely left a day or two.

Much obligec

pliers might pull it out

however the most important thing is that it should be turned off. Otherwise fresh water will keep squirting in, which will put up the pressure and gush out of the PRV pipe that goes through the wall. This will wet and stain the wall, wash away the inhibitor, and set up corrosion and rust. It may also leave grit in the PRV, causing it to drip, needing to be cleaned out or replaced.

Many thanks. (Was stupidly excitrd to have a valid PigletJohn question) Oh dear. That sounds bad. I will tell them to turn it off.
