beech worktops, which floor?!

We have just put in new white kitchen units and were given beech worktops for free so obv took them! I can't decide on the flooring now tho... It's a long narrow room (about 24 feet) and the flooring would need to extend to the porch area. I think it will have to be laminate but I don't really like beech ones and tend to prefer the oak effect ones which I don't think I could live with next to the beech worktops. Any ideas?!

tried Houzz for inspiration?

Porcellanosa (sp?) used to make some tiles with very realistic wood effect in longish "planks" which are suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Maybe worth a Google?

rather than having two mismatched wood finishes, consider a grey or tile effect.

Slate would look good

Slate or terracotta.

I I like slate but am worried it would be too cold... Also the floors quite uneven so would be quite difficult to tile I gather... Maybe the grey would be nice....
