Being targeted by other Estate Agents

We have our house on the market with an Estate Agent that we know, like and trust (yeah, I know - can you ever really trust an EA? :o). We are happy with the service they provide. BUT we have been receiving letters from another EA, each time getting increasingly persistent, and using aggressive tactics to get us either to switch to them or to use them in a dual agency. Am fuming at their unscrupulous tactics.

I don't doubt that this is common practice now but it is really unpleasant. When I complained to them about their latest letter they actually laughed at me. Am beyond Angry. If we had wanted to use them then we would have done so in the first place.

Just bin them and perhaps let them know you wouldn't market your house with them if they were the last EA on earth. It really isn't worth wasting your time on. Now if the letters are personal and offensive rather than just aggressive marketing that's a different matter.

We've been doorstepped by another EA when their letters failed to elicit their desired response... twice. Both times at 5.50pm on a Friday, and yes, we have young (overtired) DC. I didn't bother being polite.

I binned the first few, but this one just riled me. DH was at home, opened and read it first, gave it to me to read and I rang them and told them what I thought of their tactics. Hopefully that will be the last we hear from them.

I feel sorry for any elderly or vulnerable person receiving that letter. My dad had one a couple of years ago when he wasn't up for sale and thought he was being told he had to sell his house via them. I had to explain to him that he should just bin it and no one could force him to sell his home Angry.

Tell them that on social media.

I did that yesterday, on Twitter. Felt better after that :)
