black out blinds

I have got a few blackout blinds from DIY places, and it seems the mecanism isn't strong enough for the weight of the fabric (heavier than normal blinds).
So they break within 1 year.

Has anyone got any recommendations for good brands that have lasted years? and can be rolled up and down.

I don't know about brands but I've used www.campbellcreations.co.uk to make made to measure blackouts and they are great, not that much more expensive than ready mades (they regularly have offers).

We have a blackout blind from JL that we bought when DS was born he's now 7. Never had a problem with it.

Our John Lewis ones seem to be lasting well.

Our Dunelm ones have lasted really well

The Ikea ones we have are fine, and even withstand dc using them.

I've always used John Lewis with no problems.

I have Luxaflex concertina ones. Brilliant.
