We have been quoted £3000 to remove rotting wood, re-render and replace with mock wood uvpc.
3 bed semi. Sound about right?

Hmm. Don't live in a mock tudor but we were quoted £2k to replace out sofits and guttering so that's probably not too bad. Have to looked at houses with the upvc? Some round our way look a bit dodgy, have faded over time and the fake wood ones look... well ... like fake wood. If it's £3k for a decent builder with a good reputation and can you references of similar work they've already done so you can go for a nosey I'd say that was ok

I'd really think hard about replacing with uPVC, I've seen this and they don't weather well. It's hard to say whether it's a good deal without knowing how much mock Tudor wood there is, but I'd imagine if you got a quote from a local joiner, it may be similar cost. They may even be able to repair some of the wood.
