Anyone know these two areas and can comment on them as a place to live with children?

I find them similar places to visit, ice cream shop and plenty of charity shops but where is a better place to live I wonder?

Anyone any thoughts?

Largs would be my choice but I haven't live in either, although I have worked in or near them both. Largs feels more accessible and the ice-cream is brilliant (Largs also the national gymnastics centre if your kids like gymnastics).

Ooooo dotdot my youngest is gymnastics crazy!!
Am I wrong to feel Largs has more deprivation? Remember some chat about gang problem in Largs which was a bit Shock

I can't comment on that, I have never heard of it. I live on the East Coast now, but I used to live in Renfrewshire. Helensburgh is nice, but it always felt a bit too far away from Glasgow for comfort. Largs is where all the West-coasters want to retire to :-)

Perhaps post in Scotsnet or Glasgow local. Lots of opinions there I'm sure.
