Buying or renting? What's your budget? Which area of London will you:your DP commute to? With a 1yo it will be worth looking for somewhere with good schools & nurseries nearby.

Canary Wharf is not a family area. I live in suburbia, near Greenwich, it's lovely.

Renting! Our budget is low 300pw for 1 bedroom flat

Greenwich - lots of free things to do with a little one.

Finchley is lovely, Green and child friendly

You want a one bed flat with a one year old? Don't you want your own space? £300 / week is very low for London! Where are you moving from?

gingeroots · 27/09/2015 13:28

I don't suppose they want a one bedroomed flat apple .

Not everyone can afford what they want .

So 1200 pm? South East London is generally cheaper than North or west. So if you look for family areas that are near to Greenwich then you might get something nice for that. I would try Lee, Hither Green, Eltham or Kidbrooke. Are you moving from abroad?

Well I'd like a 3 bed house with a garden but I can't afford that within an hr commute door to door in London even tho I'm on a relatively high salary. It's making me seriously consider relocating somewhere more affordable even tho id be taking a 20k pay cut in another city!
