planning permission appeal

Hi,

Has anyone had any luck with a planning permission appeal? We applied for an extension to our one bed maisonette. It is exactly the same as an extension that has been approved 2 doors down from us ( we are even planning on using the same company), yet it was denied. We sent off our appeal yesterday and I was just wondering if anyone had any feedback from going through the appeal process themselves?

We did address the issues raised. The main issue seemed to be the 'excessive length' causing loss of light to our neighbours. The 'excessive length' is 4m which would bring the building level with a pre existing extension (every house down our road has an extension already) having spoken to our neighbours they didn't raise any concerns with the council and in fact want to eventually apply for their own extension- which would be directly adjacent to ours.

Yes, I've done this for myself. There is guidance on the "planning appeals" website as to what happens. I've also got lots of friends for whom this is their dayjob which probably helped, but there are lots of planning firms and barristers who specialise in this area and you could probably pay someone just to look over your appeal if you wanted too.
