Plymouth or Exeter - best areas to live...

Hi there

Just wondering whether anyone knows where is a good area to invest in property in Plymouth or Exeter

I am looking to purchase a BTL but am struggling to make the sums work where I live. Plymouth & Exeter aren't too far away and property prices are lower than they are locally. I've been doing loads of research and Plymouth is cheaper than Exeter but the rental income is less too.

Not too sure which way to go and wondered whether anyone has experience of either of these areas.

Thank you Confused

Oh, buy my house in Buckfastleigh please. Half way between the two!

I couldn't advise between Plymouth and Exeter. Both have their strong points...and weak ones!

There's a big student population in both so it should be easy to let out in either if that's what you're thinking about.
TSR always has discussions about rental prices, might be worth a look.

Good rental areas in Plymouth include:

For the Uni: Mutley, North Hill, Lipson, St Judes, Greenbank, Laira
For the hospital: Derriford, Crownhill, Manadon, Mannamead
