Did you pay for drawings?

I'm assuming this is normal but just checking, we are looking to get some bathroom/storage room conversion work done, the builders we have picked do are a one stop shop service, ie they do everything from start to finish and are asking for £375 + VAT for drawings and plans to start the process. Is that ok? good? Thanks

We did them ourselves, but the plans are only changing minimally and we did get a structural engineer on board.

DH (who used to work in building services, albeit a slightly tenuous link) managed to teach himself how to use one of the opensource CAD offerings to get the drawings done. I talked to the structural engineer to find a feasible way of getting the best possible configuration and used these to make a rough plan, which DH then finetuned.

Did them myself. But our work didn't require any planning permission.

Thanks, our work doesn't need any planning permission either but they are doing all the structural work too and I'm not capable of any doing any suitable drawings so guessing ok to pay?

We got some drawings done by an architect, a friend of a friend (sort of). He charged us £350. Very basic ones but they kept our building control people happy.. So your builders price? Not bad I'd say..
