Cost of a kitchen refurb

What have people paid for a kitchen refurb?

Nothing too exhaustive (!) bit thinking along the lines of:

  • new work tops
  • new sink
  • new cooker and fan hood thingy
  • new tiles or splashback
  • new floor (vinyl)

I'm planning on cheap materials as we are most likely going to move house in the next two years. The kitchen cupboards and carcasses are in great condition so will leave them. Our kitchen however is massive and has an adjoined utility room.

If your cupboard carcasses are good that will lower the costs

Depends on what you go for in terms of worktops

I spent £12k total on my kitchen but that was £2k oven, £400 taps, £800 sink, £6k for oak worktops and cupboard fronts and about £3k labour

We've just done this - smallish kitchen 3.5x3.5m, L shape with another run of cupboards too. Came to £1500 all in, new worktops, tiles, sink & tap, double oven, hob, extractor, handles, painted up existing solid wood kitchen cupboards, vinyl flooring. Joiner was also a tiler and did it for mates rates so maybe allow a little more. HTH.

Oh and we had new electrics but my DF is an electrician so that was free, so maybe factor in an electrician too
