Can anyone help? Looking at getting our old tatty windows replaced but having never bought them before we are a bit overwhelmed with the choice and variation. We have a 5 bed white 1930's house with some amazing views which we want to maximise so I would like as little frame as possible. Should we go for upvc or aluminum? Georgian bar on the top openers or is that a bit out of date? We did have a window company come round (safe style) who were advising against Ali but I suspect that's because they didn't sell it. We are also having double bi folds at the back which I prefer in the grey Ali so should we match our windows to that or does it not matter? Also any advantages/disadvantages to buying the windows direct and getting a builder to fit rather than a window Co. Any advise gratefully recieved.
