I own a small cottage that is rented out. The previous tenant was there 3 years and very clean. Left the place spotless when he moved out. New tenants moved in a month ago. They have messaged DP this morning to say they have a maggot problem!!?! They originally thought they were coming from the wheelie bin outside but now think they are coming up through the floor (yuck!!). As far as I can remember the floor is quality laminate boards (or could be wood) laid on top of battens on top of solid floor. My guess is that maybe a mouse died under the boards.
Firstly, I'm not sure what advice to give regarding getting rid of the maggots and secondly I'm not sure if it's my responsibility as landlord to sort it out? Completely irrelevant to the actual situation but I personally have a phobia of maggots so this has got me really freaked out. Feel very bad for my new tenants. Any advice????
