Making a tiled bathroom look cosier/warmer

Any ideas for making our small bathroom look cosier please? The bath, basin etc are white. Shower cubicle in corner with glass sides (in need of descaling!). Walls are completely tiled in large, beige, textured tiles so neutral really and a wooden look floor. I am happy with all of that and can't afford to replace but find it hard to make it feel cosy with the walls being tiled. I have towels in baskets, candles etc but the walls still make me feel it is a bit sterile. Any ideas please?

Roman blind or curtains? A couple of pictures on the walls? Plant? Bath mat?

Bright coloured towels, bath mat etc

I like plants in the bathroom! Also, maybe some bright accessories - cups, soap dispenser etc, to break up the expanse of beige tiles?

Thanks everyone. I think bringing brighter colours in is the answer as you all say, instead of sticking with the neutral theme. Hadn't thought of a plant but will do that aswell. I really would like to put pictures on the wall but didn't know if that would look odd on a tiled wall?

How about a mirror with a nice frame, I'm talking the type you'd have in the living room rather than the clinical bathroom kind.
I have some Ikea FEJKA artificial plants in mine in nice rustic pots, the look like herbs or something, not a big artificial plant fan but they look very real to me.

I hate fully tiled bathrooms, we have one in the current house, same big beige tiles but the previous owner had it all done to sell the house (cheap b&q job) so don't have the heart or budget to sort it out. In our last house we did the bathroom so only tiled the areas where water would splash. Gave us lots of area to paint, put pictures up, etc.

Sorry forgot to say how I attempt to brighten it up, basically towels, bath rug and bits on the window sill.

Agree on the plant idea, get aloe vera or cactus types that will absorb water from people having showers so very low maintenance Smile

Tremologreen I thought I was the only person left to have a loo like that!

Like the mirror idea too. Have tried to look on Pinterest for any tiled rooms with pictures hung up to see what they look like but can't find any!

Try googling pictures in bathroom and have a look on Houzz too.

Change the light bulbs to ones with a warmer light?
