We are in a bit of a conundrum. Currently living near Dartford in Kent, good for commuting and schools however my OH has now been retired off at the grand old age of 39 due to ill health so we have no reason to live near London, and tbh no desire to. Please help us find some areas to consider?

My family live in Chesterfield, OH's family live in Sutton/Carlshalton.Somewhere between OH's family and my family is ideal, we need the love and support from both sides of the family at this moment in time! So closish to the M1 or A1 would be great. We were thinking around Rutland/Kettering way, can anyone recommend areas around here? Or maybe other areas we haven't yet considered.

We would love to be rural, a peaceful villagey type of setting, lots of green clean air, which is all conducive to healing for OH to get back to full health.
Need good schools, dd 10 (1 year of primary left), ds 8. So primary and secondary to consider.

Good hospital closeish for OH to receive his chemotherapy and general treatment and checkups. Currently at the Royal Marsden so I know it may not be as specialised but I'm sure there are just as good hospitals with great cancer departments.

Been looking at google maps and rightmove all morning and my head is starting to get frazzled......help me!!

QMC is a huge hospital and I loved working there. They definitely do oncology.

There are some lovely villages around Nottingham. Sawley, Breaston and Draycott. If you want more rural look around the villages near castle donington and Melbourne.

There are some very good and large hospitals in east mids- qmc at Nottingham, Lri at Leicester and walsgrave at Coventry
Also good private provision too
What's your budget?
You will get more for money in Leicester that Warwickshire typically
Look at kennilworyh? Leicestershire villages such as - South- bitteswell, gilmorton, Burbage, north- rothly, wood house eaves (&£)- or closer to city but green would be oadby, Knighton, stoneygate (£) or more affordable birstall
Or for Nottingham look South to

I know all above areas well and wouldn't recommend otherwise! School provision varies but will depend on exact streets in some locations
The village areas all have excellent primary schools and feed into grammars or ex grammers
Or for Nottingham look South to
