Buying Spanish property at auction

Has anyone done this? Hard to get info from anywhere apart from the Spanish tax website where it seems very straightforward, or form agents who say it is far too difficult unless you pay their specific agency to enlist an 'expert' and pay them a massive whack.

You need independent legal advice from a lawyer who also speaks English. You don't want to buy a property and find it is subject of a compulsory purchase order as it was not legally built in the first place.
