Can you do it? Is it advisable? I have read in a few places that it might dry the wood out, it makes it go a bit dark... It suggests oak doors should be hand stripped, not dipped.
Pine is fine to dip apparently, but perhaps not oak. Yet the places I've called say it's fine to dip oak.
Are they just going to take my money and run and my doors be completely buggered?
Has anyone had oak doors dipped rather than hand-stripped?
