Swindon, Eldene area - to buy a house?

Me and my partner are living outside Swindon now, and we don't know the city that much.But we decided to buy a house there, now deciding to put an offer on the house in Eldene area.Unfortunately I would need to commute to Oxford, but at the moment there are not many other solutions for us / property prices, family situation /
Is is an okeish area in Swindon, if not, which one would be better?

Hi, it's a while since I lived there, and I don't know Eldene, but Stratton St. Margaret is quite nice and on the right side of town for Oxford.

Old Town is the nicest area really. Otherwise I would look at Lawn. Depends on your price range I suppose.

Old walcot is nice and on the right side of town, and can be pretty affordable. Depends on your budget/requirements. Or defo Stratton.
