Any suggestions washbasin sink mixer taps - I know it's dull...

Not the most exciting but I hoping for some suggestions as am overwhelmed with choice.

We're planning a new bathroom and are looking at a Bette Ocean bath with Aqualisa Quartz bath and shower fill. Am planning a small grey gloss cabinet with sink but not sure which tap. Plumber suggested Grohe but not sure which one to choose. Anyone have a great mixer tap?

Not a bathroom tap but we just had a new kitchen mixer tap from Franke and it's great.
The advice we got was to go with a make like Franke, Grohe or Bristan.

We bought Ideal Standard taps and are very happy with them. Seven years later and still no drips or issues. Our criteria was that they had to be mixer taps, aerated (so the hot and cold are truly mixed), and controlled with a single handle (joy stick style.) So much easier and more ergonomic. It meant we couldn't buy anything too trendy which was a blessing because now all these years later they look fine, unremarkable and unnoticed rather than dated eyesores.

We went with a Bristan tap, mainly because it matched our shower controls fairly well.

I like Bristan taps, though some of the designs are not to my taste.

A tap with two capstan heads will be easier to maintain and IMO more reliable than a joystick.

If you do not have a combi boiler or a white hot water cylinder, the pressures for hot and cold may be unbalanced, which limits your choice.

Thanks again. We have a low pressure system with water tanks so will need to factor that in. smelltheglove your tap looks great and works with low pressure so it's on the shortlist.

I'd go for a tap where the spout will swing to the side. We have quite a small ensuite basin with a one piece tap in the centre, and I keep nearly bumping my nose on the tap when I'm washing my face.

In our other bathroom we have this sort of thing which I much prefer in hindsight.

I've just come back from a hotel with a lovely hansgrohe which kept smacking me in the nose so I'll put that on the list too. Thanks everyone!
