Infra-red sensor on bathroom mirror

We are going for a heated mirror in our family bathroom and a lot of them have an infra-red switch. What are the odds that it will break very soon with children trying it endlessly? I am concerned that there are very few places that fix broken electrical items and it never makes economical sense so ewe will have to shell out for a new one. Alternatively, does anybody know a not naff looking heard mirror with a pull switch?

We're going for cabinets with infrared switch. Surely it's less likely to break than a normal switch because there's nothing mechanical to wear out?

We have 3 with no problems after 3 years

Thank you. We are looking at Roper Rhodes ones. I assume if John lewis sells them, they should be of reasonable quality.
